Centennial Anniversary

In 1925, intrepid members of the Reno Host Lions traversed the unpaved roads of Nevada to charter the second Lions Club in the State: Ely Lions Club.

One hundred years later, the Ely Lions are busier than ever. To mark this momentous milestone, the Ely Lions established the centennial scholarship program to benefit students from the White Pine School District.

The Ely Lions, joined by members of the community and fellow Lions across the State, also threw the a 1920s themed anniversary bash, with dinner, drinks, live music and dancing, in the East Ely Depot Museum’s Freight Barn, on the grounds on the Nevada Northern Railway.
